Top Manufacturers to Be Awarded
LANSING (Jul 13, 2021) — Nominations are open for the Michigan Manufacturers Association’s (MMA) annual MFG Excellence Awards program. The MFG Excellence Awards honors the inspiring stories of Michigan’s manufacturing industry by celebrating the thousands of unique manufacturing companies across the state, the hundreds of thousands of Michiganders employed in the industry and the local communities that it supports.
“In the face of uncertainty, Michigan manufacturers never hesitated to stand up to the challenge,” says MMA President & CEO John J. Walsh. “From protecting their workers like family, retooling to meet community needs, and innovating to meet the demands of a post-pandemic world, the industry has demonstrated tremendous resilience and perseverance. It is our honor to shine a spotlight on this extraordinary industry.”
The Awards program recognizes deserving individuals, outstanding companies and noteworthy products across eight categories:
John G. Thodis Michigan Manufacturer of the Year
Honors the important, positive and tangible contributions individual manufacturers and companies make to their employees, customers and communities. Awarded to an individual in the small tier category (less than 200 employees) or a company in the large tier category (more than 200 employees).
MFG Woman of the Year
Honors the roles women play in manufacturing, significant achievements in the industry and positive impacts within the company and community.
MFG Emerging Leader
Recognizes a manufacturing leader who has been involved in the industry for less than 12 years for exceptional contributions to the industry now and into the future.
MFG Talent Champion
Recognizes an individual or program that works to connect manufacturers and educators to create a winning talent program.
MFG Innovation Excellence
Recognizes a company that has introduced noteworthy innovations to advance the industry and created a culture to facilitate innovation.
MFG Community Impact
Recognizes a company that has shown exemplary leadership in serving its community or state, and is an example of the involved and giving nature of manufacturers.
MFG Lifetime Achievement
Honors an individual who has excelled in the industry and inspires peers, emerging leaders, lawmakers and educators to strive to make significant contributions to their company, industry and community.
Nominations are open until 5:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2021 at mimfg.org. Anyone can nominate and self-nominations are encouraged.
